I would consider it a highlight of my entire southeast asia trip! The Bridge Over the River Kwai- the bridge is quite famous and many people died during the war while building it. There are also war museums and war cemeteries in the whole town.
| In November there is a beautiful 'light and sound show' which replays the events leading to the destruction of the bridge with fireworks, impressive lasers, and sounds! Also, during this time there are floating restaurants and river boats cruising up and down the river. Some very good river fish to be eaten here!

| | | Overall rating | Kanchanaburi is overall a great place in Thailand. A small village along the river Kwai with lots of sights to see including the famous Bridge over the River Kwai, a Tiger Temple, War Museums and much more. |
| | Experience | The Tiger temple was just incredible. I enjoyed it a lot and it was a once in a lifetime experience. At the tiger temple you can touch and take pictures with tigers which are taken care of by Monks. It is a sanctuary and also has many other animals and is really worth going to ! even if its just for a picture with a tiger! |
