 | | no1dimples | (01.03.2010) | | | | | This tour claims to be fun, friendly, full of native information and survival tips, covering the Red Heart of Australia. My friend and I were sadly disappinted, Bush Tucker was a very odd chilli con carni (included sweetcorn, carrots and potato). No real information on the Anangu (local Aboriginal tribe) was given. The climb of King's Canyon took place at 12.30pm the hottest part of the day. Resulting in a member of tour nearly collapsing with extreme heat exhaustion - the guide refused to give any of his surplus water to those struggling. The toilet and shower facilties were non-existent the first day - with tour members having to squat behind bushes and shrubs. 3 of the 9 attractions on the itinery were not included. The tour bus was extremely cramped with minimal leg room available for those 5'5" and taller. The inclusive price does not take into account the fact that stops for refreshment required you to pay for cold drinks, etc (which added an extra $100 on the price for the two of us).
If you want cheap with basic amenities, this is for you. If you dont want to sleep on just 2 inches of padding on the stone floor, want to be able to wash daily and want to eat decent meals, then look elsewhere - this is not the tour for you.
